EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINE DRILL

Welcome, Commander.

Before we can separate fact from fiction in the world's narratives, we must recognize how our own emotional intelligence — or its absence — shapes what we believe and how we act. A strong EQ is the foundation required for the Navigate stage.

Purpose

To assess your emotional competency across four critical dimensions and identify the single area that needs the most deliberate training this week.

Instructions

For each statement, mark how strongly you agree or disagree: 1 = Strongly Disagree, 5 = Strongly Agree.

I can feel when my body signals discomfort (tight chest, knot in stomach) during tense conversations.

I prioritize factual information over the emotional tone of a message.

I can admit when I hold an opinion that isn't backed by solid evidence.

I can step away from emotionally charged media when I begin to lose perspective.

I avoid arguing merely to "win" and instead focus on understanding the issue.

Section Score0

EMPATHY & SOCIAL AWARENESS

12345

I make an effort to understand why someone with opposing beliefs might hold those views.

I look for shared values even when perspectives differ.

I'm willing to listen without interrupting.

Section Score0

CRITICAL THINKING & INTEGRITY

12345

I check the source and motives behind a story before accepting it as truth.

I can distinguish a messenger's style (charisma, humor, tone, visuals) from the actual evidence they share.

When a narrative confirms my existing beliefs, I challenge myself to seek alternative perspectives.
