SENSORY CONFLICT TRAINING

Welcome, Commander.

The battlefield of integrity isn't just in your mind; it's on your screen. External narratives are often deliberately engineered to exploit the gap between what you see and what you hear. This exercise trains you to isolate those components and restore your clarity.

Purpose

To train yourself to isolate and analyze visual and audio components in media, resisting manipulation and strengthening your integrity compass.

Instructions

Choose a short media clip (2–3 minutes) from a news broadcast, political ad, commercial, or social media video. Complete each step of the analysis below.

STEP 1: PICK YOUR MEDIA SOURCE

Describe the clip you selected. What is it? Where is it from? What is the general topic?

STEP 2A: VISUAL ONLY

Mute the clip. Watch only the images, expressions, and setting. What story are the visuals telling without the words?

Close your eyes and listen only to the audio. What is the tone, language, and emotional message of the words and music alone?

STEP 2C: THE CONFLICT CHECK

Play the clip normally. Do the images and words work together (alignment), or do they pull in opposite directions? Describe the conflict or alignment.
